Thank you for being with me since the time I learned how to read. For introducing me to millions of new worlds where anything is possible. To all those wonderful characters who showed an insane amount of courage and never shied away from following their hearts.
Thank you for helping me to be brave and kind, just like my favourite characters from the books. You kept me awake at nights where the torch was the third member of our exclusive club.
You made me laugh,
you made me cry,
you made me feel chills down my spine,
you made me solve my first ever mystery,
you just made me feel alive!
Thank you for showing me how to be proud of who I am and for teaching me to not judge a book by its cover. You accompanied me on all the rainy days when there was nobody around, you accompanied me on all the trips and vacations, and above all, you have always been with me!
Thank you for opening my mind to infinite possibilities, you helped me in imagining the impossible. You helped me have conversations with the famous and important people around the globe. You taught me to differentiate between the wrong and the right.
I stood by the window,
Letting the tickling rays of sun fall on my face.
Hoping for you to bring that cup of coffee,
The same one which you brought every day.
But here I stand, reminiscing.
A lone tear crawls down, caressing my cheek,
Just like the way you used to do it.
Again making me aware of your absence,
The absence of us.
Now the only thing which holds me at night is your shirt,
The same shirt, that you wore the day you told me you loved me, for the first time.
The same shirt which makes your eyes pop.
I hold it close to my chest, just like the way you used to hold me.
But your smell is fading,
Reminding me that you are not here.
All the physical shreds of evidence of you ever being here are gone.
But my heart is not READY.
I’ve read a million of articles on how to move on!
But, how to move on from someone who was supposed to be your ‘forever’?
How to move on from all the daydreams you had?
How to move on from someone you thought you were going to grow old with?
How to move on from someone who penetrated all the walls you had around you?
How to move on from someone you bared your soul to?
How to move on leaving behind a part of you?
Thank you for reading.
Everyday Inspiration: Day 7 “Let Social Media Inspire You”
Celebration dance first!! This is my 100th post on the blog. It feels amazing that I have produced 100 unique pieces and you guys have supported me throughout the process. A big thank you to all of you, for showing me the huge amount of love and encouraging me to always keep writing. Thank you so much! Hugs and kisses to all of you!
Now back to Everyday Inspiration.
Today I am going to talk about the places where I get most of my writing done.
I know, it sounds weird but public transports really provide a lot of inspirations. I just love to sit in my seat and observe everything. In public transports, there is a lot happening at once both on the inside and the outside. Hence, inspiration comes easy.
I just use my smartphone for saving all my ideas and the drafts. It makes the entire process of writing, more hassle-free. But I recommend using earphones or you will lose thought process.
The Cozy Corner Of My Room
This is the place where all of my write-ups get the final touches. I just love to sit on my table with a cup of coffee and focus on the thing I love the most, writing! I have fairy lights around my writing space which sets the perfect mood and cheers me up because I love fairy lights.
These are the two places where I write. Do you have a dedicated writing space? Everyday Inspiration: Day 6 “The space to write”
Please suggest some of the topics you guys would want to read about. As a part of Everyday Inspiration Challenge, I am asked to collect the topics that my readers would want me to write about.
Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.
― Oscar Wilde
The first time I read this quote, I was a confused teenager who did not know where she belonged. I was somebody who always felt out of place, tried to mix up with the crowd but failed, every time.
I would fall into the trap of comparing myself with others and end up feeling miserable.
I have a very clear memory of what happened that day! In eighth grade, we were asked to write a paper on “Who am I”, I know, mother of all coincidences! But the next day, my teacher called me and gave me this beautiful poster which said, “Be yourself, everyone else is already taken.” That changed everything for me.
I know it sounds foolish but that was the exact moment when I realised that it is okay to be different from everybody. I realised that not being like my friends does not make me weird.
But when you are a teenager, you take a lot of practice to accept your originality.
For a really long time, I would read that poster before going to bed and immediately after waking up in the morning. That actually helped me a lot!
This quote has also affected my writing,
You can see some of the posts revolving around the same theme, here.
Since then, I have been trying to embrace who I am.
Thank you for reading.
Has any quote ever affected your life? Everyday Inspiration: Day 5 Hook ’Em With a Quote’
Have you ever stopped yourself from trying something new, thinking what if people laugh at me?
Have you ever given up on your dreams because you failed once and became a laughing stock?
If you have, we need to have this little chat.
If you have not, then congratulations to you! Please read ahead and tell the others and me whether you agree with me or not.
Do you know that the fear of “what if I fail?” has affected more lives than the actual failures?
Let’s take a moment to clear our headspace and have a conversation.
Have you ever failed at something? What a stupid question! Everybody has failed at something or the other in their lives. So now that we have established the fact that hurdles and obstacles are unavoidable parts of life, let’s continue.
We try something new, step out of our comfort zone, sometimes we succeed and sometimes we don’t.
Some people laugh at us, does it hurt? Of course!
Why do we care about them so much?
Why do we give them so much importance?
Why do we allow them to have so much control over us?
If you are saying, “Duh! Normal human behaviour.”
Then shouldn’t this same human behaviour apply to those who did not laugh at us?
Those who appreciated our efforts?
Those who encouraged us to keep going?
Those who asked us to not give up?
If we can care about a handful of people who are trying to make us feel like we are nothing, we are a big failure, our life is useless and what not!
Then why can’t we pay attention to those 7.5 billion people who are not laughing at us?
Why can’t we care about those who asked us to move forward, despite everything?
If we let some words affect us, then why can’t those words be the kind ones?
So, next time, if you ever want to give up, please keep in mind that there are many who are rooting for you!
I am rooting for you!
If you still want to listen to others’ opinions, just pay attention to the positive ones.
And please never make anyone feel like they don’t deserve to be here. Because you have first hand witnessed how it feels when someone makes you feel worthless.
Be kind! Be encouraging! To yourself. And to everyone else!
Thank you for reading.
Have you ever hated someone because they made you feel worthless? Have you ever made someone feel worthless? It’s never too late to apologise! Everyday Inspiration: Day 4 “A story in a single image”
I listened to a Ted Talk once, where the speaker was talking about the choices we make and how It affects our lives? The most remarkable point that she made was that we always have a choice as long as we are ready to accept the consequences.
That made me realise the immense power we hold on our journey of life. That was the moment in my life when I realised the true meaning of ” You are the author of your life story”.
At every moment we have a choice to make, we get to choose how our rest of the journey is going to be. And the most beautiful part is we are the ones who get to pick the circumstances of the choices we make in life. If we don’t like the option we have chosen, life offers us the ability to change it in the very next moment.
So, if you think, we are provided with infinite options during each moment of our life and the authority to make the choice lies solely in our hands.
If I decide to eat healthily, I would be required to give up a lot of food that I like.
But that’s something I have chosen for myself.
If I decide to cheat on my healthy diet and binge on pizza, I know I would be regretting later. But that is again my choice!
If I decide to splurge on the payday, I might have trouble at the end of the month.
But, that would be the result of my own decisions.
If I am entering into a relationship, I am agreeing to share my life with someone.
So, if I am having some troubles and going through a bad time, which will definitely happen at some time or the other, it is because of the choices I have made in the past.
If I am parting ways with someone, I might miss them at odd hours,
But, again it is something I decided to do with my life.
In the Ted Talk that I talked about in the beginning, the speaker gave an example of someone who is stuck at their job. She said, “If you are looking at your friend’s travel pictures and wondering why your life is bad? It’s because how you opted it to be. You could still quit your job and do the whole travelling thing as long as you are ready to accept the fact that you won’t be earning or living the life you are living, right now.”
That changed my perspective on life, completely!
It made me aware of how I am writing my life story and how I can change it at any moment if I don’t like the way it is going.
It made me feel powerful!
Thank you for reading.
Do you like listening to the Ted Talks? I am up for recommendations.
Everyday Inspiration: Day 3
“One Word Inspiration”
I write because it calms my mind,
From all the drama that happens in the life of any normal 22 years old woman.
I write because it helps me in getting the clear picture,
Of what I am going through at the moment?
And of what all I could possibly do it to make it better?
I write because it prevents me from being overwhelmed,
From most of the things,
Everything happening at once in a greater amplitude.
I write because I love to write.
It is one of the most relaxing hobbies that I have.
I write because it is the only time when I am the truest to myself.
With no barrier in between my pen, paper and I,
It feels like the most intimate conversation I could ever have!
Especially with all the changes that have been happening in my life.
I write because it allows me to take a break from the rush of life.
A life of social media,
A life of speedy moments,
Where everything is so fast-paced that it often leaves me panting,
Gasping for air!
I write because it helps me in saving precious moments of life.
Writing every detail, second by second.
And revisiting those memories,
Reliving every nanosecond,
